Schedule :

Catch the 4:30 pm CSMT- KARJAT fast local. People who live on the slow track station please come to your nearest station.

Time table is as follows:-

Tips :

  • Board the second compartment from the Karjat side which is the second last from the CSMT side.
  • Everybody will board the same local and we meet on the train itself.
  • Members are requested to take return tickets to Karjat on their own.

Day 1 : Saturday
Meeting Point: Karjat Station – 06:20 pm
06:30 pm: We will proceed to Ambivali base village of Kothaligad Fort by tum-tum or private vehicle.
07:30 pm: Reach Ambiwali, Introduction round & Snack
                    Ascend – Enjoy Fireflies en-route
09.30 pm: Reach Pethwadi by 9.30 pm
10.00 pm: Have dinner and stay overnight at the Village House
10:30 pm: Start trekking & Enjoy Fireflies on the way while trekking.
12.00 pm: Off to sleep

Day 2 : Sunday
06:00 am:  Wake up call, Sunrise view, Explore & Photography & Breakfast
06.30 am: Start to ascend to the summit of Kothaligad fort
08:00 am: Reach on top, Explore, and rest
09:30 am: Have breakfast and start descending.
11:30 am: Reach Base Villages
12:00 pm: Leave for Karjat by bus/ Private Vehicles
01:30 pm: Reach Karjat and take locals to Mumbai.

Things To Carry :

  1. ​Comfortable Clothing: Wear lightweight, moisture-wicking clothing suitable for trekking. Long-sleeved shirts and pants are advisable to protect against insects and vegetation.
  2. Sturdy Footwear: Trekking shoes or sports shoes with good grip are essential for navigating the uneven terrain.

  3. Water: Carry an ample supply of water to stay hydrated throughout the trek, especially if it's a longer trek.

  4. Snacks: Pack energy-boosting snacks such as nuts, energy bars, fruits, and dry fruits to keep your energy levels up.

  5. Headlamp or Flashlight: Since the trek involves walking during the night to witness the fireflies, a headlamp or flashlight is crucial for visibility.

  6. Extra Batteries: Carry spare batteries or a power bank to ensure your headlamp or flashlight doesn't run out of power.

  7. First Aid Kit: Include basic first aid supplies such as band-aids, antiseptic cream, pain relievers, and any personal medications you may need.

  8. Rain Gear: Depending on the weather forecast, carry a lightweight rain jacket or poncho to protect against unexpected rain showers.

  9. Trekking Pole: A trekking pole can provide stability and support, particularly on steep or slippery terrain.

  10. Personal Essentials: Don't forget to bring essentials like sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, and a hat.

  11. Identification and Emergency Contact Information: Carry a copy of your ID and emergency contact information in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

  12. Trash Bags: Practice responsible trekking by carrying your trash back with you and disposing of it properly.
  13. DSLR: you can capture stunning photographs of the fireflies and create lasting memories of your Kothaligad fireflies trek with your DSLR camera.
     

    Note : 

  • Expect sluggish conditions at places around because you would be visiting it soon after the rainfall (most probably!). Mind your surroundings.
  • Don’t flash a torch at a tree full of fireflies. They go mad upon seeing the light.
  • The worms are not warm, they emit light because of the phenomenon called bioluminescence. So when they sit on you, allow them to walk. Don’t get scared.
  • Since it is not a luxury trip, do not expect any luxury.
  • All food is a hygienic and authentic local delicacy.
  • You are joining an outdoor activity where any incident, reasons beyond control like Natural calamities, landslides, bad road conditions, riots, political uncertainty, public transport failure etc.; Man-Made calamities, Vehicle breakdown, or vehicle dysfunction can happen & you agree that the organizer/leader shall not be held responsible for any accident, mishap (including death) caused by any circumstances.

Cancellation & Refund Policy :

  • Cancellation within 12 hours of payment is 100% refundable. (Not applicable on payments made before or less than 36 hours of the event.)
  • If cancellation is done prior to 6 days of outing 70% will be refunded.
  • If done prior to 3 days of the outing 30% will be refunded
  • After that, no refund will be provided.
